Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Raymond Omollo has finally spoken out following the recent attack on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi.
Speaking on Friday, Omollo strongly condemned the incident, assuring that those responsible will be apprehended and face the full force of the law.
He emphasized that the government will not tolerate acts of lawlessness, warning that both perpetrators and their enablers will be held accountable.
The PS also urged political leaders to exercise restraint and promote peaceful engagement, cautioning that rising cases of violence risk undermining Kenya’s democratic space as the country gears up for the 2027 General Election.
Omollo made the remarks during the official launch of the Ateker Leaders Council – Kenya Chapter, a platform aimed at fostering peace, cooperation, and development among Ateker communities across Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, and Ethiopia.
His statement comes amid mounting pressure from opposition leaders, who have blamed him for the incident and called for his resignation.
On Thursday, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka demanded that Omollo step down, escalating the political fallout surrounding the attack.
