The members of the United Opposition in their recently released statement have even argued that the move by the Government is totally unlawful and the Government ought to have issued a statement prior to the demolitions.
Speaking through his official X page on Tuesday, the 31st of March, the President's advisor on Constitutional matters has accused the critics of the Government on the demolition of double speak.
In his bold remark, Professor Makau Mutua has told the members of the opposition to stop the double speak, and allow the Government implement its agenda to the people of Kenya.
According to Professor Makau Mutua, the demolition in Gikomba has followed the due process and is in accordance to the riparian rule, is in line with the constitution and it's hypocritical for critics, who claim to defend the constitution, condemn the move, when its only meant to implement the rule of law.
The Professor has insisted that the rule of Law does not allow any illegal settlements to stand provided the due process has been followed.
"You cannot on the one side sue for a rule of law constitutional state and on the other lambast government for acting in accordance with the law and judicial fiat. Illegal settlements cannot be allowed to stand after due process." Stated Professor Makau Mutua.
