Thousands of teachers may soon down their tools after KUPPET accused government of failing to guarantee reliable healthcare coverage. 

The union says the Social Health Authority system has left many educators stranded in hospitals or paying medical bills themselves despite salary deductions.

The private hospitals have suspended services over unpaid government claims union leaders are demanding urgent action within a week.

This will be a major blow to the parents and to the students who are in various schools across the country.

Teachers are rquesting the government to re-introduce the edu afya which was being used by them before SHA was introduced. The cabinet secretary of education is yet to give out direction on the matter and teachers are demanding him to come out and address the issues.
