"Sisi Wenye Tunaharibu Nchi" Matiang'i Tells Mbeere Residents after Electing Wamuthende

Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i has voiced disappointment with the people of Mbeere North after they voted in favour of the UDA candidate in the recent by-election.

Speaking during a burial ceremony of Lenny Kivuti's mother, Canon Penina Ciambogo Ngugi, Matiang’i lamented that it was humiliating for the community to fall prey to the government’s calculated political tactics.

The former Interior Cabinet Secretary alleged that voters were enticed and manipulated into supporting the ruling party’s candidate, claiming that state machinery was deployed to influence the outcome.

Matiang’i further accused government officials of misappropriating public resources, alleging that money meant for development had been diverted to fuel political campaigns rather than serving the needs of ordinary citizens.

He cautioned that the country risks sliding into political instability if such tactics continue unchecked.

According to him, allowing government operatives to have their way through intimidation, resource misuse, and voter manipulation could eventually push Kenya toward dangerous levels of tension and chaos.
