A section of Kenyans on social media have reacted to a sad incident involving a man who has been arrested by the police. The story sparked mixed reactions after details of the arrest emerge on social media.
According to reports, the man was found with a Grade 5 pupil who had been missing for several days. Information shared online revealed that there was a case of a Grade 5 girl from Soyoin Primary School in Kamungei, Sotik Sub-county.
The girl, who comes from Surek village, was reported missing on 19th October 2025. She was later found at Kapkoros with a middle-aged man who was hiding with her.
The girl was rescued by a team of police officers from Kapkoros and Kapletundo stations, who quickly responded and took her to safety.
The incident has caused concern among many people, especially because cases of defilement have been on the rise in different parts of the country. Many Kenyans have expressed sadness over the situation and called for tougher measures to protect minors.
There is also growing concern that many men have fallen victim to such cases because of ignorance and lack of awareness about the law. It is important for the authorities and community leaders to educate people on the dangers and legal consequences of such actions.
In Kenya, the law states that defiling a minor can lead to a prison sentence of up to 35 years. Many Kenyans online said the suspect should face the full punishment as provided by the law.
