Wamuchomba Calls Out Gachagua as Source Reveals His Silence on the Scrapped Linda Mama Program

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has thrown down the gauntlet to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, questioning his relevance in the opposition.

At a weekend grassroots meeting, Wamuchomba criticized Gachagua for staying silent on issues directly affecting ordinary Kenyans.

She focused on the scrapped Linda Mama program, which previously offered free maternal healthcare to expectant mothers, calling its discontinuation a serious oversight.

“You cannot claim to represent the people while ignoring their suffering. If you remain silent on Linda Mama, you have no business in the opposition,” Wamuchomba declared.

The remarks place Gachagua in a politically sensitive position, especially as he attempts to present himself as a defender of the common mwananchi after internal UDA party conflicts.

By linking opposition credibility to advocacy for social programs, Wamuchomba has effectively set a test for Gachagua’s leadership.

Analysts argue this confrontation could influence Gachagua’s political trajectory, determining whether he is a genuine champion for citizens or a politician detached from their struggles.

Failure to address the issue could erode his credibility, leaving him vulnerable to criticism both from the public and within opposition ranks.
