Bad News for Raila Odinga as New Poll Reveals the Following

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, since he joined national politics many years back, has been commanding a tangible and influential support in various political blocs in the country including the Nyanza region, the Western region, Ukambani region and the Coastal political bloc.

It is therefore bad news for Raila Odinga and his envoy as new opinion poll reveals that his influence in one of the above political blocs is declining at a notably big rate.

According to the poll results, Odinga's support in Lamu County, which is in the Coastal region, appears to be have drastically changed with the results showing a sharp decline in the support of Raila Odinga's ODM Party.

Once considered Odinga's stronghold, some local leaders and residents are increasingly shifting allegiance to rival parties, especially William Ruto's UDA Party, a sign of changing dynamics ahead of Kenya’s next political contest.

According to the poll results released by Mizani Africa, Ruto's influence in Lamu county in the Coast region seems to have grown with the largest number of respondents supporting Ruto's UDA Party.

This comes as a big blow to Odinga's ODM Party which has been the most influential party in the region for a long time now.

Odinga is therefore expected to work harder if he wishes to return ODM Party's glory in Lamu county back to normal. Click here
