The sudden meeting between President William Ruto and his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta at Nairobi’s State House on 1, August 2025, has send a mixed reactions, with political analysts suggesting the end game of the two veteran politicians.

As the next Presidential Elections Looms, analysts have tried to decipher the secret behind Uhuru and Ruto meeting as political realignments takes shape in the country.

The Debate over the “UhuRuto” State House visit continued to trend on social media.

And according to Prof. Gitile Naituli of Multimedia University mocked the visit, saying that Uhuru Kenyatta could have staged a fallout with President William Ruto to block former prime minister Raila Odinga in 2022 elections.

“Uhuru was famous for being disliked. People didn’t love him. He staged a fake fallout with Ruto just to block Raila,” said Prof. Naituli.

He noted that the two Politicians are cut from the same coat, and the recent appearance of being together is another Jubilee part two.

“From the ICC to the SGR railway project, they did everything together under Jubilee. This is Jubilee Part Two.”

In addition, popular lawyer and Political analyst Wahome Thuku, an ally of Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, doubted if Uhuru Kenyatta made a routine visit at State House.

“Two things. First, don’t tell me since September 2022, Uhuru Kenyatta—who lives near State House—has never been there. Remember, Ruto visited Ichaweri. Also, there are recent claims Raila spoke to Uhuru before his handshake with Ruto.

“Second, in those pictures, the two were clearly not discussing Congo. They were obviously talking about Mt. Kenya politics and the 2027 lineup.” he posted on his social media accounts.
