Ohangla Singer Javan Mc Ajudo Promises To Support Funeral Of Bodaboda Man He Accidentally Killed, Family Seeks Justice

The family of John Chibole, a 61-year-old man who died in a tragic road accident in Kisumu County, has come forward to demand justice following the incident that claimed his life.

Chibole was fatally knocked down on the morning of Friday, December 26, near Harambee Market in Nyakach sub-county. 

According to eyewitnesses, the accident involved a vehicle carrying popular Ohangla musician Javan Mc Ajudo and members of his team. Chibole reportedly died on the spot due to the severity of his injuries.

Speaking about the painful ordeal, Chibole’s eldest son, Cornelius Chibole, described the confusion and distress the family experienced immediately after the accident.

He said he first learned of the incident through phone calls from his siblings, who told him their father had been involved in a road crash. 

When he tried calling his father’s second phone line, a traffic police officer answered and informed him that Chibole had been rushed to hospital in critical condition.

“The officer called me again and told me my father had passed on,” Cornelius said. 

“When my sister went to the hospital, she was directed straight to the mortuary. That is where she found him.”

Cornelius described the injuries as severe, saying his father’s leg had been badly damaged and his head fatally injured. 

The shock, he said, left the family devastated, especially their mother, who struggled to process the sudden loss.

According to Cornelius, representatives linked to the accident later reached out to the family and expressed willingness to assist with funeral arrangements.

He claimed that Javan Mc Ajudo and those involved in the accident agreed to cater for various funeral expenses, including transport of the body, burial preparations, and support for the family.

“They paid for the hearse that moved my father’s body from Pap Onditi to Butere. They also cleared some hospital and mortuary bills,” Cornelius stated.

He added that there were promises to cover the cost of the coffin, burial shroud, and provide financial support to his mother.

More significantly, Cornelius said the musician had pledged to help cater for the education of Chibole’s younger children, who were still in school at the time of their father’s death.

“Our father left behind children who still depend on school fees,” he said.

“We appreciate the promise to help, though we are not sure how long that support will last.”

Eyewitnesses at the scene claimed the vehicle involved in the crash was being driven at high speed. 

Some alleged that the occupants appeared intoxicated, though this has not been officially confirmed by authorities.

Residents said the vehicle veered off the road after the impact and slid into a ditch several metres away. 

Tension briefly flared at the scene as members of the public attempted to confront the occupants, but calm was restored by locals.

Javan Mc Ajudo was reportedly not injured in the crash.

Despite the promises of assistance, Chibole’s family insists that justice must be served. 

They want a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and accountability for their father’s death.

“This is not just about burial expenses,” Cornelius said.

“Our father was the pillar of this family. His life mattered, and the law must take its course.”

Police are yet to issue a detailed public report on the incident, but investigations are said to be ongoing.
