Questions As Heavy Security Oversees A Shamba Being Ploughed By Over 10 Tractors In Ruto’s Rift Valley Backyard

A large piece of farmland in the Rift Valley has drawn public attention after more than ten tractors were deployed to plough it under tight security.

The operation was guarded by the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU), a police squad known for its no-nonsense reputation.

Witnesses described a coordinated exercise where tractors moved in formation across the vast land, turning the soil under the watchful eyes of heavily armed officers.

The presence of such security sparked curiosity about who owns the shamba and why the process required so much protection.

Local farmers, used to working their parcels of land with one or two tractors, were stunned by the scale of the activity.

For them, it was not just the machinery that stood out, but also the guarded perimeter, which made the land look more like a restricted zone than a farm.

The Rift Valley has long been at the center of debates about land ownership, historical injustices, and power.

Big farms often raise questions about who controls them and how they are acquired. The shamba being ploughed under police protection has now joined this list of mysteries.
