REVEALED: Everose Obwaka Finally Says What Accelerated Her Husband’s Death

Fresh details have emerged surrounding the death of Job Obwaka after his widow, Everose Chemtai, claimed that intense stress and legal pressure may have accelerated his untimely death.

Speaking during a requiem mass held at CITAM Valley Road, Everose said her husband had been under increasing strain in the weeks leading up to his death due to a court case involving The Nairobi Hospital.

She alleged that Dr Obwaka had expressed fear for his safety after receiving pressure from unknown individuals who allegedly wanted him to withdraw a High Court case.

According to the widow, the late doctor often confided in her about his fears and would sometimes ask her to check on him if he went for several hours without communication.

Everose further claimed that the situation worsened after Dr Obwaka was allegedly arrested while on his way to attend to pregnant patients who were waiting for his medical services.

She said the experience of being in custody was deeply distressing for him and may have contributed to his declining health.

The widow added that the family believes the combination of legal pressure, arrest, and emotional distress “accelerated” his death rather than allowing him to continue his normal life and medical duties.

Everose also revisited the couple’s final morning together on May 1, describing it as calm and ordinary.

She said they shared breakfast at home before the doctor prepared to leave for work.

Before leaving, he reportedly gave her KSh10,000 for a salon appointment and assured her they would meet later in the day for dinner.

However, the respected gynaecologist and obstetrician never returned home.

Later that day, Dr Obwaka collapsed in the Milimani area of Kitengela and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His sudden death shocked colleagues, patients and the wider medical community, many of whom described him as a dedicated and compassionate doctor.

Despite the allegations, no official medical findings have been publicly released linking stress or the reported incidents directly to the cause of death.

During the memorial service, Everose urged the public to allow the family privacy as they continue to grieve and seek answers.

She described her husband as a devoted family man and committed professional who worked tirelessly for his patients until his final days.

The case has continued to attract public attention, particularly due to ongoing disputes involving the management of The Nairobi Hospital, where Dr Obwaka had reportedly been involved in reform-related matters.
