EALA MP Kanini Kega reacted after Katwa Kigen failed to declare his wealth during the vetting for Supreme Court Judge Position.

Katwa Kigen appeared before the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) today amid interviews to fill a vacancy at the Supreme Court following the demise of Judge Mohamed Ibrahim.

During the vetting Katwa Kigen reportedly failed to declare his wealth, something which caught the attention of Kanini Kega.

Taking to his official Facebook Page, Kanini Kega suggested that Katwa Kigen automatically disqualified himself after failing to declare his wealth which is one of the requirements.

"Interesting... automatically DISQUALIFIED!" reads Hon Kanini Kega's reaction.

He was reacting to reports of Katwa Kigen failing to declare his wealth. The updates made by Standard reveal that Katwa Kigen said that he thought that the panel would rely on forms submitted during the Court of Appeal judge interviews conducted months ago.

Remember Katwa Kigen was one of the 15 Court of Appeal Judged who qualified and who were confirmed early this year.

Today Katwa Kigen appeared before JSC for vetting aimed at filling a vacancy at the Supreme Court.

During the vetting, he failed to declare his wealth, saying he thought that the panel will rely on forms submitted during the Court of Appeal judge interviews.

However, Kanini Kega has now opined that Katwa Kigen would be disqualified for failing to declare his wealth which is one of the requirements.
