New Widow in Town? Liz Forced to Defend Herself After Kenyans Call her a Widow After Jirongo Saga

Media personality Liz Jackson has hit back at social media users who have been linking her to the late former Lugari MP, Cyrus Jirongo, following his tragic death on December 13.

Jirongo died in a collision along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway when the Mercedes-Benz he was driving collided with a Climax Bus.

While investigations are ongoing, conflicting accounts of his last moments have surfaced, including remarks from National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, who described hanging out with Jirongo in Karen shortly before the fatal crash.

Days after the accident, netizens began speculating about Liz Jackson, claiming that the Mercedes involved in the crash was the same one she had previously shared on Instagram.

Some users even suggested she had an affair with Jirongo, with a few referring to her as a “widow.”

Liz quickly addressed the comments in a TikTok video showing her Christmas visit to her village, where she was seen feeding cows, chopping firewood, and carrying water for a shower.

Responding to a netizen who called her a widow, Liz said, “Might I have been married at one point and I do not know. No way,” shutting down the speculation.

Fans and social media users weighed in on the controversy, with some praising her humility and beauty, while others joked about her “village happiness” away from the celebrity spotlight.

NTSA records have clarified that the Mercedes involved in Jirongo’s crash was registered to Smart Cars Limited, not the politician. Investigators noted Jirongo had been associated with the car since at least 2020.

Security footage and witness accounts are now central to the ongoing DCI investigation into the collision.

While the drama continues online, Liz Jackson has reaffirmed her independence, dismissing rumors linking her romantically to the late politician, and focusing on sharing moments from her personal life.
