Nairobi, Kenya – As the family of the late former Lugari MP, Cyrus Jirongo, prepares for his burial, new rumors have emerged suggesting a link between Jirongo and media personality Liz Jackson.

Netizens claimed that the Mercedes-Benz E350 involved in Jirongo’s fatal accident belonged to Liz Jackson.

The rumors started circulating after photos of Liz Jackson flaunting a similar Mercedes-Benz on social media were discovered online.

Some users speculated that Jirongo had gifted the car to Liz and borrowed it on the day of the accident. The social media chatter grew quickly, attracting attention from fans and bloggers.

Pulsenews learned that Liz Jackson addressed the rumors cautiously. She stated, “I don’t think I want to comment on anything,” and later shared a gospel song on her Instagram Stories, signaling her wish to stay private amid the ongoing speculation.

The accident occurred on Saturday, December 13, in Naivasha, Nakuru County. Jirongo’s life came to a tragic end just months after he had buried one of his daughters.

Photos of the wrecked Mercedes-Benz circulated widely, fueling further speculation online. Some social media users claimed that the car’s license plate matched the one Liz Jackson had displayed publicly in December 2024, when she celebrated acquiring a Mercedes-Benz E350.

Anonymous sources online shared additional details, claiming that Jirongo treated Liz with great care and that he may have borrowed the car for the day because his own vehicle had mechanical issues.

One online user wrote, “Jirongo really treated Liz like a queen. I feel for her, such a good soul.” Another added that Jirongo gifted the car to Liz last year, and on the day of the accident, he was simply driving it.

Beyond the rumors, attention has turned to Jirongo’s burial plans. George Khaniri, former Vihiga senator and a member of the funeral committee, announced that the politician’s family decided to lay him to rest in Kakamega County, where his parents are buried.

Traditionally, a polygamous man is buried at his first wife’s homestead, but the family chose differently in Jirongo’s case.

Earlier in the year, Jirongo had revealed that he was married to four wives and had several children. He was known for showing affection and appreciation to all his spouses, particularly his fourth wife, Anne Tanui, whom he praised for accepting him despite his flaws.

The late politician’s death has generated widespread grief and online discussions, not only about the tragic accident but also about his private life.
