Gerrard Urges Salah to “Reverse Away” From Outburst Against Liverpool

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has urged forward Mohamed Salah to step back from his explosive comments accusing the club of “throwing him under the bus” amid growing tension between the Egyptian star and manager Arne Slot.

Salah said after Saturday’s Premier League draw with Leeds that he felt blamed for Liverpool’s poor form and claimed his relationship with Slot had deteriorated.

He was later omitted from the squad that travelled to Italy for Tuesday’s Champions League clash, though Slot has insisted the forward could return to the team soon.

Gerrard, speaking to TNT Sports, said Salah appeared “emotional and hasty” and needed to calm the situation.

“He’s obviously really upset he’s not playing, which I respect,” Gerrard said.

“But the lines about throwing people under the bus—wrong. He needs to reverse away from that and deal with it with the manager.”

The former England midfielder likened the situation to the 2013 fallout between Luis Suarez and then manager Brendan Rodgers, when the Uruguayan striker attempted to force a move away from Anfield.

Suarez was initially made to train alone but later reintegrated and stayed for another season.

“I’ve seen this and I’ve lived it with Suarez when he fell out with Brendan face to face. I’ve been there and done it myself,” Gerrard added.

Reports suggest Salah—who signed a new contract in April—could be targeted by Saudi Arabian clubs in January.

Despite his influence in helping Liverpool secure two Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy since joining from Roma in 2017, his form this season has dipped.
