Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Vice Chairman, Otiende Amollo, has expressed concern about how some party members have been behaving since it's entry into government.
The Rarieda MP has taken issue with those bragging about how the party and the Luo Nyanza region is enjoying being in government, terming such as reckless talk.
He has pointed out that the party has only been given a small section of government, which is not worthy the praises some members have been heaping on President William Ruto.
He has termed this behaviour embarrassing, noting that the Mt Kenya region enjoys even more government position but it's leaders have retained their decency.
“We have fewer positions in the government than some other regions. One community even has more cabinet secretaries and principal secretaries than we do," he is quoted by the People Daily.
"They even have the deputy president position. Have you ever heard them constantly saying they are in government? When we keep saying every time that we are in government, it diminishes our value."
He also sought to correct the narrative being spread by some ODM members that the party will be in President Ruto's 2027 coalition.
Amollo clarified that this has never been the plan and the party will decide which direction to take when the right time comes.
“We are a big party, and we have to accept certain terms when we join such arrangements. Raila only said we will be in this government up to 2027. After that, it is up to us to decide."
