According to the lady, what began as a normal day in their hostel quickly turned into a horror scene after she discovered that her roommate was secretly keeping a pet snake in their room.
The student said she was arranging her clothes when she noticed something moving inside her roommate’s wardrobe. Out of curiosity, she decided to check, only to see a snake slithering out from a small bag.
Shocked and trembling, she screamed for help, but before anyone could come to her rescue, the reptile disappeared back into the bag.
When her roommate finally arrived, the terrified student confronted her about the snake. To her surprise, the roommate showed no sign of guilt or fear.
Instead, she told her to “mind her own business” and ordered her out of the room, saying, “Aliniambia nitoke nje.”
That response left the student even more confused and scared, not knowing whether her roommate was serious or joking.
Some wondered why anyone would keep such a dangerous creature in a shared hostel room, while others advised the student to immediately change rooms before something worse happens.
A few even joked that maybe the snake was being used for “spiritual protection” or “companionship,” though most agreed it was unsafe and unacceptable.
This story, which first appeared on social media, has now inspired several blogs and digital platforms to highlight the hidden dangers of shared accommodation.
It serves as a warning to students to always be cautious about who they live with and what they bring into shared spaces.
The frightened student has since been reported to have moved out of the room and is now staying with a friend as the university administration investigates the matter.
