DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa has said that leaders from the opposition will come together and choose one person to face President William Ruto in the 2027 election.
Wamalwa spoke during a political meeting and said that the fight in 2027 will be a big one.
“Today marks the beginning of the real beginning. It will be a big battle against Ruto in 2027,” Wamalwa said.
He believes that the opposition will be strong enough to fight Ruto if they work as a team.
Wamalwa explained that each opposition leader must first go back to their home areas and bring people together.
After that, they will all sit down and agree on one person who will be the candidate to face Ruto. He said this is the only way to beat the current government.
He said that Rigathi Gachagua and Martha Karua will work hard to bring the Mt Kenya region together.
At the same time, Wamalwa and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya will speak to the people in the Western region. Kalonzo Musyoka will make sure that people in the Eastern region are united.
This plan shows that the opposition is now very serious. They want to stop fighting each other and instead come together to fight the same enemy.
Wamalwa believes that if they all work together, they can remove Ruto from power in the next election.
Right now, politics in Kenya is changing. Some leaders are leaving their old parties. Others are starting new parties.
Many people are talking about the future. The idea of one joint candidate from the opposition is now becoming real.
If the leaders stay together and do not fight each other, they can have a strong team. The next two years will be very important.
Each leader will need to talk to the people in their region and ask for support. After that, they will choose the best person to face Ruto in 2027.
