"A Worse Dictator Will Take Over," MP's Chilling Prophecy Exposes Deep Fears Within Opposition

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has issued a stark warning, predicting that a “leaderless revolution” in Kenya could result in the rise of “another worse dictator.” His remarks have sparked widespread concern within the opposition and beyond.

Amisi stated that without a clear leader, any popular uprising could be hijacked, leaving the country vulnerable to even more oppressive rule. He cautioned that such movements often remove one dictator but open the door for another to take charge.

“A leaderless revolution only removes a bad dictator,” Amisi said in a late-night address. “After the fall of the dictator, whoever takes over is none of the business of a revolution... any Tom, Dick, and another worse dictator can take over.”

His words have intensified debate, with many seeing them as a direct reference to the current wave of protest movements. The MP’s remarks have been interpreted as a warning and a call for opposition unity.

The timing of Amisi’s statement coincides with ongoing divisions in the opposition. Rigathi Gachagua, leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), is facing challenges in keeping the United Opposition front together.

Gachagua has promised to rally the opposition against President William Ruto in the 2027 elections. However, internal disputes have raised doubts about the strength and stability of this coalition.

A recent disagreement over the appointment of Mukhisa Kituyi as the opposition’s spokesperson has further exposed the rifts within their ranks. The public spat has shaken confidence in their ability to present a united front.
