Yesterday 18, August 2025, President William Ruto did not escape confrontation after Kenya Kwanza and ODM MPs confronted him, accusing him of hounding them with corruption allegations.
The MPs lamented that while they were already struggling to defend his government’s poor performance before the public, the Head of State was already on their neck with corruption allegations.
When President Ruto stood to speak, he too was heckled, with MPs demanding he address bribery claims he made in Homa Bay during the Devolution Conference.
Some MPs, speaking anonymously, said it was disrespectful to be scolded by Raila and Ruto “like small children” while they had been defending the government before Kenyans.
“They won’t succeed if they keep targeting MPs, and we will not allow it. If they want to change parliamentary leadership, they should say it openly instead of using loopholes and shortcuts,” one MP said.
Nevertheless, the Yesterday’s meeting ended in anger, with the agreed resolutions not read.
