United States President Donald J. Trump praised UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his smart leadership and futuristic thinking in a historic visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
The two presidents announced a massive $1.4 trillion deal focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), making it one of the largest tech investments in the world.
“You’re a brilliant man of vision,” President Trump told Sheikh Mohamed during the signing ceremony in Abu Dhabi. “This is how leaders change the world.”
The AI deal will create a global partnership between the U.S. and the UAE, with plans to use AI in health care, education, agriculture, transport, and national security.
The $1.4 trillion AI agreement will bring together experts, companies, and governments from across the world.
The goal is to develop advanced AI technologies that can solve real-world problems—like improving hospitals, building smart cities, and boosting food production.
President Trump said the deal is proof that strong friendships between nations can bring real progress.
“This isn’t just a business deal,” he said.
“This is about building a better future for our children.”
The project will be led from a new AI Innovation Center in Abu Dhabi. Thousands of jobs will be created, including positions for engineers, scientists, and young professionals. There are also plans to offer training to students from the U.S., UAE, and Africa.
This is President Trump’s first official visit to the UAE since returning to office in January 2025.
He received a warm welcome from UAE leaders and business people. His visit is being seen as a move to strengthen U.S. ties with the Gulf region, especially in technology and innovation.
“The UAE has shown the world what’s possible with strong leadership and vision,” Trump said during a press conference.
“You turned a desert into a dream. Now you’re turning that dream into the future with AI.”
The world reacted quickly to the news of the deal. Many business leaders praised the bold move.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted on X: “Massive respect to UAE and President Trump for going big on AI. This will shape the next century.”
Other world leaders also congratulated both presidents. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called the deal “a major step toward safer, smarter global progress.”
However, some critics raised questions about AI risks, such as job loss or misuse of technology. President Trump responded by saying, “We are going to make sure this technology helps people, not replaces them.”
The first stage of the AI project will begin in early 2026. It includes building AI-powered hospitals, self-driving transportation systems, and smart farms. These systems will help save money and improve services for people in both rich and poor areas.
Sheikh Mohamed, speaking after the deal was signed, said: “This partnership is not only about money. It’s about making a difference in people’s lives.”
The project will also focus on creating AI tools that can predict natural disasters, support law enforcement, and improve education in remote areas.
